Sustainability

Sustainability is a fundamental principle at Westdale Group, firmly rooted in our commitment to environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability. Our approach to sustainability is best summarized by the classic definition: “ensuring development meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

For us, sustainable development entails:

Emission Reduction: We diligently work to minimize emissions throughout our operations and projects.

Resource Efficiency: We strive for the optimal and efficient use of resources, reducing waste and conserving valuable materials.

Waste Reuse: Our sustainable construction practices emphasize the reutilization of waste, ensuring that materials are repurposed whenever possible.

Health and Safety: The well-being of people is paramount. We prioritize safety and health considerations in every facet of our work.

In our vision of sustainable construction, often described as “build to last,” our objective is to create buildings that not only serve their immediate purpose but also contribute positively to the environment, generate lasting economic value, and enhance overall quality of life. Additionally, when it comes to refurbishing existing structures, our External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems are cost-effective methods that extend the life of a building and facilitate remedial work while occupants remain in place.

A typical Westdale refurbishment, which may involve new cladding and windows, has been shown to reduce heat losses through the building fabric by up to 75%. This translates to significant reductions in heating costs and a noteworthy decrease in carbon dioxide emissions.

Our dedicated Environmental Committee remains tirelessly committed to advancing energy efficiency and minimizing our carbon footprint. We continuously seek ways to improve our practices and minimize our impact on the environment.

In acknowledgment of our commitment to sustainable practices, Westdale has received accreditation through CPC (Construction Products Certification), a reputable provider of management systems assessment, certification, and training services in the UK.
